Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Emir of Kano, Khalifa (Dr.) Muhammadu Sanusi II, on his 65th birthday, saying the respected monarch’s scholarship, public service and devotion have enriched the nation. Atiku, the presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke in a statement issued on Friday and shared on social media. In the statement he personally signed, Atiku said, “I warmly congratulate His Highness, Dr Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, CON, Emir of Kano, on his 65th birthday. His scholarship, public service, and steadfast devotion have enriched our nation. May Allah grant him sound health, greater wisdom, and many more years.” Born on July 31, 1961 in Kano, Emir Sanusi is a trained economist and Islamic scholar who rose to become Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) before assuming the throne as Sarkin Kano. He is also the Grand Khalifa of the Tijanniyah Sufi order in Nigeria.
